Cityscapes and Buildings
Park
Avenue
This forced perspective model was created in Australia in 1987 for
a early version of Total Recall. The stock market crash shut down the
production and the buildings were sold to the UltraMan TV series, that
was produced in Australia. The perspective of this model was forced
from 1/24th scale to 1/100 scale to give the illusion of depth.
The model was used as a background with the Introvision process,
a split screen front projection system.
The buildings were fabricated with wood frames and used plexiglas and
styrene for the facades. Urethane castings were used for many of the details.
Our crew made up of local artisans was one of my best.
The
Mars Hilton
This 1/10th scale model was to be the entry mall for the Mars Hilton in the
Australian version of Total Recall. This was the first use of
Lazer cut parts in my models.
